Im after a set and have seen loads of different wheels claming to be rare RS500 BBS wheels. Some have bolts and some dont, which are the proper ones?

And if you know of any replica style alloys you can get let us know.

My point is I have seen some with no bolts and the person selling them lists them as being the rare RS500 wheels so if someone posts a photo of RS500 rare BBS RS wheels, i'll know hes not full of shite.

I wouldnt be fussed myself as any wheels like yours would look lovely, I just need to know for my own sake.

apparently the solid 1 peice ones were the rs500 ones, althought i dont beleive any BBS were official rs500 rims more likely just a wheels the dealer supplied.

BBS split rims for the RS500 are 7"x16" front and 8"x16" rear, these were offered, NOT an option for the RS500 via the dealer when new, at a cost of over Ł1500 not many people took this offer, thats why these wheels are so rare, the centre or the basket of the wheels were in silver but most owners have them gold, mine have been painted Vauxhall Mirage Blue thanks to that tall fella from wales (his idea)..........LOL

If you see any for sale under Ł1500 BUY them
Spare parts are still available from BBS, ie; rims, bolts, centre caps, but NOT the centre basket

Spare parts for BBS split rims were discontinued 2 years ago, according to Simone Gaiser at BBS in Germany. These wheels are like gold dust, I bought a set from Germany 18 months ago and cost me Ł1600 fully refurbed with gold centres.

The bloke I dealt with at the time, had another set in his posession, he told me had only seen 5 sets in his lifetime in FORD Fitment.

Seek and you shall MAYBE find !!

 

i got these off of an rs500 and they looked good on it they looked nice on my sapphire cosworth and are now sat on my mk5 rs2k but i`m getting bored of them cos every one seem to want em

 

There the solid type, one piece. Quite a bit easier to find, but still worth good money, Got to be worth a grand easy!!

 

Image wheels do a wheel that is almost same as BBS wheel at least these are available new, so no refurbing would be needed, think they would look ace on a 3dr.

The other set you are talking about are the BBS RZ wheels -no split rims.
I had a brand new set that i never fitted cause the off set was made them a little tight of the car.

But the Spilts rims for the rs500/3door e.g. 7x16 front and 8 x 16 rears are perfect. I brought my splits set from Holland and sent them back to BBS for rebuild. I know i had the last outer rims from BBS for the for the rears, this was about 2 years ago.

 

I have the RZ's and they fit with no problems and no kit trimming

 

Ive got a split rim set with gold centres, 7x16 front,8x16 rears all as new tyres, toyo proxes new on rears, nearly new (forgot what ) on front. Ill sell em for half decent money. Genuine BBS split rims if somebody wants a set!!!

 

Get some pictures up wixey, im sure you will sell them no bother

I've always loved the classic 80's look of the BBS basket wheels, I just can't stomach the price and what a pain to clean.

 

iv heard you have a few spare sets and the hubs to fit them iv been asking a lad i know called moza to ask you ir you know of where i can get some and how much thay are worth
