I checked the engine management today with the ECU from my XR.
Took out the plugs and placed them on the rocker cover while still attached to the leads. So when turning over engine i should see a spark.
Took the plugs off the injectors and using a MK5 escort side light holders in place of the injectors, i can now check that the injectors get a pulse when turning over the engine.
I am yet to run a wire for the fuel pump so instead i connected up a mulitmeter and made sure that the wire was getting 12v with ignition on.
So with no fuel (Cos the injectors are unpluged) and no spark (cos the plugs are on the rocker cover) i turned over the engine and could see the firing order and also the injectors plugs flashing
So the outcome is, that if i have these two parts of the management working and i assume i have compression.......she should start..
I need to take the loom back out and do the final touches to make it fit nice and look nice. Then a little wiring for fuel pumps and triggers etc..
Hope to have her on the road real soon.

seen this build all the way through and the attention to detail is bordering on stupidly detailed, things like every clip being individually polished.. should be awsome.
want anymore pics geez? as ive got loads ive been taking along the way
but sod that get on with building my loom mutha fuka!!

Thanks for the kind words. The car is 90% done now. Still trying to find silly clips and parts like the washer jets and rubber to go around the wiper in the the spoiler etc..
Going back down the breakers today.
Will update with decent pics real soon
