i will find out in 400 miles when shes done 1k and will be ready for full boost set up, but there is an amal valve there , i cant see how its a leaky pipe as its holding strong now even tho its on 0.8

Surge is basicaly an imbalance of pressures between the turbine side and the compressor side of the turbo, this presure (back pressure) enter's the exit of the compressor housing, disrupting flow through the compressor wheel.

Surge is normaly caused by an incorectly spec'd turbo unit.

you could borrow a t3 off of someone and fit that to see if problem is still there if it isnt then get your turbo sorted or just buy another second hand t3

All should become apparent when your cars being set up!

Its often the case boost isnt what it would appear to be, due to a lot boost guages being inacurate.

Hope things work out ok for you
