Default Rs Turbo Compression

im getting valve stem oil seals replaed on my car as car had been smoking on start up on mornings.would clear after half a mile.
the guy doing this said hell do a compresion test at the same time.does anyone now what the figure should be roughly or is it more important that there all very simalar
any help would be much appriciated

standard is 8.2:1, but the reading you will recieve will be in PSI/bar not sure what it should be tho

Compression ratio and compression test are two different things.

It's more of a case of the reading from each pot should be similar (within 10% of each other) and do the test dry, and then again, wet.

The figures vary from car to car, wouldn't like to hazard a guess, so up for any RST peeps who've done a test on theirs for comparison.

Compression pressure at starter cranking should be about 12 - 14 bar

MK5RST, so your saying it should be 180psi
is it about 14.9psi to 1bar?

cant find anything in haynes apart from i was again wrong and just to clarify, the CR of anERST is 8.3:1 someone work it out if we have compression ratio,

8.3:1 cr
1597cc
bore: 79.96
stroke: 79.52

theres no defined pressure really as even brand new engines are different, but they should all be within 10-15psi of each other otherwise theres a problem
