Basically had my saph off the road for bit, the amal was working fine before but had 2 have the wireing loom behind the dash re-done and now have a problem.
basiacally theres a hi/low boost switch which replaces the live feed from the ECU to the amal with a new live and the switch in situ to turn on and off (how it was before he re-wired it all)
Now for some reason with the ignition on the amal will click, but as soon as the engines running it wont work.
The amal valve is fine as ive tested it plus i bridged the wires on the switch and its still the same so isnt the switch either
Any suggestions?!

bttt, any ideas?!
Only thing i can think thats different is the ECU has a permanent live feed when it might have had one coming off the ignition or something?!
Other than that cant work it out

the amal valve gets its normal supply from the fuel pump relay.so once your pump is running the valve should be supplied, the valve is earthed through pin 16 on the ecu its the brown and yellow wire on the valve connector
you can break the supply or earth to the valve and you get the same result which is low boost because the valve is designed fail safe in other words if it either supply or earth wires lost continuity it prevents you overboosting you engine.
when ignition is switched initally you get a timed pulse to the valve for about 2 seconds to click on and then it clicks off.
you can give the valve any 12v supply but i think its best to earth it through pin 16 although i am not aware of any problems giving it its own earth as long as the supply is dead with the ignition off
i think the valve is pulsed on the earth side to give gradual overboost protection instead of abrupt cut off when using pin 16,and you would loose this if useing a seperate earth

Funny u should say all that
Not 100% sure how it was wired up before as i didnt take it all out lol, but thought i'd try and use the wire that was connected to pin 16 (wire has been cut to go to switch and not used) and it seemed to be clicking on and off with the engine running so hoepfully baiscally what u have said has happened
Basically it was re-wired with a live feed not an earth which im guessing was causing the prob!! had alot of the interior wiring sorted by a mate but he doesnt know bout things like that, so 1 wire out of the million he sorted isnt too bad
Will know tomorrow when i take her for a spin, but cheers for ur help mate much apreciated
