Unregistered Cortina on ebay :-O
Q: hi there can this car go onto an 05 number plate as its unregistered many thanks chris
A: I beleive so, although it would be best to check with the DVLA first.
Surely thats crap. It would never meet emmsisions requirements

It would need an SVA test due to its age and the fact its not registered. It wont be possible to register it as new because of the new regs etc regarding safety, if you changed the car to conform then i dont see why not

mine attracted all the teenage toty back in 1985.
Thats really nice, collectable even
I can't see why it wouldn't be granted an 05 plate....would they not just test the engine via its engine code and not the plate age.
I mean you can have a 17 year old engine in a 5 year old car, and the engine will be tested according to its age.
Stil lvery nice none the less, a good chance to own a bit of motoring history, and without the rust and leaking back window :P
p.s Anyone noticed the bottle of lead replacement additive in the door card?

To us younguns it seems difficult to belive there was a time when Ford showrooms such as that one and others were filled with this car and others like the capri, fiesta, sierra and now its all gone
Yep, i remember when i lived next to a ford garage, they had a moonstone 3 door sitting in the showroom brand new
Also remember the son of the owner having an escos monty too

The pics in the showroom remind me of the Ford dealer in Meltham, Huddersfield, (where the misses is from) where there have a 2.8 Capri in red, a blue 1.3l Mk2 Escort, and a Gold 1.6 mk2 Escort 1.6 Ghia
Here is the ghia....

I dont believe it can go on an 05 plate, as its not brand new is it... It will have an age related plate more than likely IMO...
be different if they were selling a brand new shell, seperate brand new engine etc, with an invoice , but that will already have a vin number etc, so is just an old car which wasnt registered, unlike for example Y2K RS

from the Ford dealer, left down to crossroads, over 9by Lloyds bank) and 1st right. Here is a view of Meltham high street I took this xmas......
ahhh yes - meltham by snow - just down the road (head down that road in the picture) towards huddersfield, turn right just after the bus-stop then follow that road and there is a fantastic breakers yard - shitloads of fords in there
also, have you ever heard of Matamp (behind safeway and lightowlers yarns) - i used to work there when i left school, did about 4 months full time and about a year before that as a saturdayboy before i started an apprenticeship at holset engineering in huddersfield
woah, you missus parents - at the cross roads, go straight accross asif you are following the signs for greenfield, and then take the first right and thats a cul-de-sac - is it THAT road

As you turn in to Mile End, there is a chap on the corner that has geese, ducks and the odd sheep in his garden. Looks like a scene from The Good Life!!
i know that exact road - one of our members on here lives there (a good mate of mine he is too), infact, you've probably unwittingly seen me
bottom right house there is a bloke called malcom - has a new fiesta - he works with me dad
