Default Help needed regarding engine oil light

just had a full engine rebuild done and finally got round to starting it today so i pulled plug off dizzy and cranked it over a couple times to get oil light to go out but it wont go out so looks like oil pump not been primed propperly when was fitted

the light is meant to go out isnt it by just cranking it over????
as i dont no if it only goes out after its running???

not happy paid money to have all this done and not working

any ideas or have i got to take oil pump off

cheers
jon

I wouldn't have thought there would be enough pressure to put the light out - just by cranking the engine.

Going to be an arse clenching moment waiting for it to go out when you start it!
