saw that mk6 escort run today, got absolutley pasted by my bosses r34 gtr skyline
didn't seem that fast for a 460 bhp drag car, I was going faster allday & I was struggling with turbo lag on launchs with a stage 3 saff

my mate grant won the class x and the 0-60mph today i believe with the mk1 golf 4wd turbo, 11s 1/4m and a low 3s 60mph

it's his first time out , first time even been in the car ...it's just been built

it can't be that bad if he got a 3.9 to 60 in the wet

he told me with him just taking his time he got a 13's 1/4 @ 124mph so that tells me it's got some grunt in it (A 500+bhp 2WD cos would stuggle to get 124mph teminal time )

when he gets use to it he will put some good times down

still not bad tho, let him get use to it and you will see the differance

4.66 was his best time to 60 & he launchs it like an old granny so pretty good.
doesn't drive it every day hes normally in the works transit
He wouldn't let me have a go after seeing me launch mine on the limiter
Never saw the escort run less than 14.5 don't know about the terminals.

I didnt realy enjoy my day actually , just a piss poor venue , pot holes , muddy puddles and crap all over the start line , not much of a drag strip ,

and to cap it all the timing gear is well off , sorry but it must be , apparently i matched my best 0-60 but was a full second off my 1/4 mile times , and when i beat a car by a full car length to the 1/4 the timing sheet showed he beat me by second

I went in my Pulsar yesterday. I thought it was a Cossie day out when I got there, there was loads of them.

I think the timing gear was accurate, but the start line traction was abismal. I've never wheel spun before and I was goind sideways off the line. I only got a 13.15 (0.07 off my best with a 0.17 slower 60ft time) and a 4.86 to 60 using 3rd.

That'll be down to him starting after you and catching up at the finish line
