Flush the whole system and refill following the instructions on the bottle of antifreeze. If you still have no joy, check the usual things and start saving for an alloy rad.

if you over fill the header tank, it will piss out when hot

its an expansion system IIRC, so when hot the water level rises up

maybe it pissed out when hot, and when you switched it off etc... it will get hot, they all do, thanks to the turbo being part of the cooling system route...

have you put an 82 degree stat in it yet ? and 4x4 fan switch ? to help in the short term, then get an alloy rad, and turbo cooler, i.e. like the pro alloy one

cheers guys!
i havent actually done the mod yet however, when im driving the fan is usually on, i think the tank is classed as an expaqnsion tank system, i have seen the lid leaking a tiny little bit but i tightened it up a little so should be ok now!!!! :-( did i see right somewhere that other than antifreeze theres another additive that you can add that will help cool the water????

whats the best way to flush a system out???

i need to look at the turbo coolers, mine is an s1 turbo unit on an s2 and it seems to get very warm also!!!!! :-(

probably wont be helping your temperature situations, every little helps...

althought water cooled ones, heat the coolant up as well, turbo coolers are best

how come it was leaking ? you poured water down ?

turbo cooler from PRO ALLOY Ł100, ideally needs to bolt to the side of one of their intercoolers tho!

no fuse box cover!!! WHY NOT ???

get a cover asap, and then think about repairing it, welding needed i expect

get a cover, you dont want water pouring into your fusebox and knackering it out...

coolers plumb in to turbo coolant lines from main water coolant system, just 2 pipes...

get a cover if i was you

you got an ERST S2 or a puma ?!

the puma is off the road at the moment as it doesnt want to start at all!!!!! i think its the clifford alarm! the rst is the new toy really, only just got it so its all new to me!!!!!
the puma no longer has the wheels on it that are in the siggy, it has the frp wheels on it now and the front and rear brakes are now st170, evertything else on thatcar is pretty much as it looks! full frp interior, full racing exhaust system, 4-2-1 manifold, modded ecu, air filter bit of a stereo, lowered but i hate it now its that low, needs to go back to standard springs on the konis!it needs the rest of the graphics doing on it, hopefully before the shows!
the rst is also red, 4" scorpion, -31, s1 turbo, chipped, bleed valve and thats about it, doors and boot are smooted and delocked! in the process of getting the bonnet smoothed off and getting a 90 spoiler, needs a very good tune doing to it abnd soring out of the wheel camber, bodywork is a little shoddy but will come up good! probably get some small white graphics on that aswell as having the wheels powder coated too.its also got green stuff pads with ebc discs, im not too keen on this set up either!!!!! this is also stupicly low, im after a set of original springs to go with the koni dampers for it!!!!!

Sounds like you need to flush the system, go and buy a new header tank and cap from ford (cheap enough) and see how you get on
