Car back from Paintshop. Had mirrors off to paint them. Passenger side mirror moving reluctantly, driver side doing nothing.
Checked the connections on the cables and to back of switch, these all seem ok.
I know the heat for the mirrors is tied to the heated back screen but wondering if the mirror position switch is in some way tied to the heated screen?
Top and drivers side connections to the screen broken off at paint shop so only the passenger side connection remains to the screen,
since the passenger side is at least trying to move, wondered if the movement of the mirror was on the same circuit.

Mirror switch isn't tied to the heated screen switch. Is the mirror switch definitely in the right oreientation? IIRC it "could" be forced in upside down.
The actual switches do get a bit flakey, I've had to open a couple up and clean them up to get them back into service. If its had paintshop dust etc in it, then a clean might be all it needs

 

Thanks for that. Wondered about the switch so have ordered another one.
Tempted to take the glass out to clean behind it and check connections
but frightened I break one as it appears they are like Hens Teeth.
Dying to get it m.o.t.d but not sure if they'd check the mirrors/

 

Now sorted, used switch off Ebay and both mirrors now working fine.
