Default Cossie engine mounts

Anyone know what engine mounts are on a standard 3 door Cossie?

Just removed my old ones to fit a set of Collins ones but they seem to be quite harsh on tickover and low revs .

I's assuming I've not made an arse of fitting them tbh as they look straightforward!

Looking at the old ones, they look different - the numbers are 85HF-6038-DA and 85TF-6038-BA

So which one goes on which side?

Note to one’s self when you remove anything label it so you know where it goes should you need to put it back in its original place

did the Collins ones look the same? If they differed there is a chance they would have been sided, fit specifically to sides.

as for the harshness you’ll find a lot of the replacement/upgraded stuff is made out of different material and cause the car to feel different. I fitted a roll restrictor to my focus rs and it vibrated like a bitch when I first drove the car after it was fitted, so much so I thought I wouldn’t be able to live with it and thought about taking it off. It has settled down though but it’s still noticeable especially when the air con pump is running

I did mark them but after looking around, I think one of my old mountings might be the wrong one anyway

Found this listing on Ebay - both mountings the same part number in the advert , mine are 2 different part numbers. Been like that for years

On mine, the longer threaded rod is reversed on the other mounting.

Someone probably put a like replacement in for one of your originals that’s why they differ in appearance and part number

if the upgraded ones were the same leave them fitted and see if vibration settles down a bit

If I remember rightly left and right are different engine mounts as the locating pin is in a different place, on stock mounts that is.

I have Collins engine mounts in mine, they are stil harsh some vibration but they are miles better than the vibratechnics that I took off, I dont know how rod lived with it it was horrendous knock ya fillings out bad 😂🤣😂🤣

Collins still firm but it's bearable imo

Thanks. I ended up just putting a standard set back on, must be getting old lol.

I'll just sell the Collins ones on Ebay or something, probably won't bother using them.

Cheers

I can't remember driving a cossie on stock engine mounts it must be 10 years ago now mate
Have you noticed a huge difference in vibration in the car going from Colin's back to stock ?

I've only gon vibra to Collins which is massive improvement but do still have small amount of vibration

Yeah, the vibration basically disappeared after refitting standard mounts.
I took the Collins ones off and refitted them a couple of times although I can't see how it would be possible to fit them wrongly with the longer threads at one end.
The extra harshness from the Collins mounts was probably something I would have lived with 20 years ago but the car drove so well before, it seemed a shame to change it.
Oh well
Pic of the car in case anyone is interested sometimes use it for the school run, my wee girl loves it

Car looks lovely mate I had a moonstone years ago 🥰🥰

I can't run passengers side stock mount as it won't fit due to dry sump pump, but I can run a stock drivers side so I might try that for abit less in car vibes, I'm 43 and definately likeing abit more creature comfort lately 🤣😂 lol
