Default Wasted spark coil pack

Morning,

does anyone know of the standard fiesta Rs turbo coil pack is wasted spark or do you have to buy a specific one?

hi mate

thanks for the reply, I’m converting to efi using a link management system they have said to get a frst wasted spark coil pack. Just wasn’t sure if that just meant a standard one?

The Ford coil packs didn't have an ignition amplifier. So when your ECU doesn't have one, you'll need either an amp module or a coil pack with a built in amp.

I found this out when I converted mine last winter and didn’t have a spark🙄
My mapper recommended a VW coil pack if you want one with a built in amp but I don’t know from which model.

You can also use an EDIS module. There's been some used as a standalone ignition system with a built in ECU and some that were just an amp.

The VW twin coil pack was probably one like the NGK 48010, used in hundreds of Audi/VW/Skoda/Seat vehicles.

Thanks for the replies, I have purchased 2x cosworth ignition amplifiers which the tuner put on my list of find it items, so with that in mind do I just get a normal coil pack?
