It's been over a decade since having a project Ford so it was long overdue.
Picked up this Puma in March which had a good amount of work done prior to me owning it. 85k miles. Car number 0255/1000. Folders of paperwork.
Work already done to the car:
421 Mani
200 cell sports cat
Stainless system
MSD coil pack
K&N panel filter
Its has a number of standard parts Powdercoated too
Front subframe
Hubs
ARB
Rear beam
Inlet mani
MAF sensor
Engine mounts
Had a bit of rust when I got it mainly the rear arches. I've had these replaced with Expressed panels, Painted them on the drive at home. Also replaced the boot lid which previously had a spoiler (Fitted with self tappers!)
Since owning it I've done:
AP coilovers
Coilover covers to keep those threads nice!
Braided brake hoses
Kode deep dish wheel
Mondeo Ghia X 16" wheels. (Refurbished by Rapid Wheels)
Set of Toyo Proxie TR1's
Adjustable drop links
20mm rear beam spacers
Undercoated / sealed all the inner arches
Heat shielded under bonnet (The carpet is missing)
You have done a good job with the bodywork repairs and paint. Once you have finished all the rest of the jobs it will be a top class Puma to be proud of!!
Thanks. Got lucky when I picked it up by finding one that had seen a lot of love before me.
Dont seem to see too many Pumas let alone decent ones so hoping the prices pick up in the coming years. They are cheap as chips right now.
There was a nice track day Puma at the Classic Ford Show back in May. The guy had done a lot to it and he reckons it was pretty quick. It was the only Modified Puma at the show.
That looks like an S1600 shell. (Not 100% sure) which were the race / rally spec version. Nice car.
Gave the drivers side head light a strip down and clean. Loads of gunk behind the light as there had been an oil leak at some point which covered the inner wing. Fairly easy job on these.
Had a great afternoon yesterday at a local show. Met another puma owner and had a good look around theirs. Great to meet another like minded owner.
Heres some photos:
Ive ordered a full set of Silicone bay hoses from Pro Hoses. Not cheap but something thats been on my list for a while to dress up the engine bay. Ill get the rad swapped at the same time.
Also ordered some cheap backup items to keep on hand incase of future issues.
Spent a few hours on it today thanks to some unexpected good weather.
A Pilar has turned out great. Bumper has had a fair amount of wet sanding before getting to cut and polish. So its slow going. The bonnet Im not overly happy with. Blend is not great and its not my finest work but half decent as a stop gap.
