Default ST225 reverse light.

Anyone know much about ST225’s my reverse light is playing up. Bulb and bulb holder good. Earth to bulb holder good. I have 11.5 volts at the bulb holder tested with my power probe. But that voltage is not good enough to light a bulb. I’m guessing the switch it good because if you put it in reverse with the wipers on the rear wiper switches on. If you leave the car in reverse the light will flicker and sometimes light up after a period of time. Anyone know how it’s wired?

Weird one , I have replaced the bulb holder in them, can't think of anything else, really.

Other than the loom splits behind the trim on the Focus, might have a bad connection, from memory its on the passenger side.

I followed it along the bumper to a large plug that’s all ok. Then up into the car. All looks fine. I plugged my test bulb holder in but wouldn’t work. I may try a switch

Could it be anything to do with the actual switch? If it is unfortunately it’s a bit of a nightmare job to change

I’m in too minds as the rear wiper come on if you put it in reverse with the wipers on. So the switch is working that system. I don’t know how it’s all wired. I may try a switch.

Yeah I think I’ll order one and try it. It’s just odd the rear wiper comes on if you put it in reverse with the wipers on

I ordered a switch from Ford I’ll have it tomorrow. I’ll do it at work as I’ll need to lift the car on the ramp then put a jack under it to support the gearbox. Seems you have to remove the battery, battery box and tray and gearbox mount

I know I've only.started working on 7.5ton DAFs over the last few years but they are defo easier to work on than cars/vans. Ok parts are heavier and nuts and bolts are tighter but Wagons are defo easier to work on.

Glad you got your car sorted.
