Default Cosworth fuel regulator return pipe question

The cossie seems to be running good now I’ve changed the fuel regulator but want to replace the fuel return hose as well.

This is the part I’m after that connects to the return feed on the regulator:

This pipe is just a push fit using this connected. Can that really be right or has something failed?

This is the pipe this connect push fits in to that leads back to the tank:

Does this look right as seems very hap-hazard considering there’s petrol passing through it!

Thanks James. That’s good to know. I’m thinking to just replace the whole of the top pipe from the regulator to the lower hose for peace of mind and like you say jubilee clip at both ends.

What is the recommended fuel line to use nowadays, as I am thinking of replacing my fuel lines over the winter?
