Default Honda DC2 Turbo

My son got this mapped yesterday. It’s all done by him with the exception of the exhaust and screamer pipes that were fabricated by his brother.
standard bottom end with a thicker head gasket and different valves and springs. Issue free dyno session making the power he wanted at under 9 psi leaving plenty opportunity for more boost with stronger internals. Positive boost from 2k until 8.2k

Off to the dyno

The important bit.

304 wheel hp😁

Engine bay will be tidied when the engine I’d out for forged parts in the future. Note the distributor with no HT leads as now on cop.

Nice touch screen monitor that displays everything the the ecu sees.

Good power on that. I understand these are great handling cars too.

Yes pleased with the power, he done plenty research and ended up buying the turbo core and housing separately as nobody made what he wanted and I’m sure that and the 3.5” exhaust is why it makes boost so early.

They are always voted in the top 1 or 2 best fwd cars of all time. It make my S2 Escort feel like a tractor although it never felt right reving it to nearly 9k. Thankfully with the turbo power drops off at 8.2k now so don’t have that issue 😂😂😂

Not sure exactly as I don’t have the graph atm but I think around 260. Not great when compared with modern stuff but then it revs much higher.

vtec change over is now at 4k Honda originally set it at around 6k and let the power drop off to make it feel more impressive.

Saturday saw the last of the data logging for the low rpm cruising fuelling. It was only the on boost stuff that was done on the dyno. It’s now in position for closed loop to be enabled but only for off boost, it reverts to the known fuel table whilst on boost.

Looking much better after paint.

Needs the bumpers and wheels painted and an hour with a painless dent guy and it will be pretty mint.
