Mk3 1.0 Eco-boost Clutch & Gearbox Failure
Hi Folks,
My Dad's Focus which is 2014 '64' 1.0 eco-boost suffered catastrophic clutch & gearbox damage. The gearbox was replaced with a second hand one, along with a genuine Ford clutch kit. The problem now is the car will not start, once you open the door you are greeted with the following message "Ford key free switch ignition off press power" The message goes away once the door is closed, once you depress the clutch and press the power button nothing happens no click nothing at all. I will attach pictures of the damage.
Any help will be appreciated as my Dad is at his wit's end with it.
Thanks
Andrew
Thanks for the reply focusV8
The clutch neutral position sensor, has been changed for a brand new one from Ford. There is a another switch at the top of the pedal called the clutch starter inhibitor switch, that's been checked with a volt meter, and it still doesn't start. The codes l have are as follows
P086B:1E-2C Neutral position sensor circuit range/performance
P08AE:00-2C Neutral position sensor B circuit range/performance
P086D:00-2C Neutral position sensor circuit high
P08B0:00-2C Neutral position sensor B circuit high
P086B:38-2C Neutral position sensor circuit range/performance
P08AE:38-2C Neutral position sensor circuit B circuit range/performance
P086A:00-2C Neutral position sensor circuit open
On a site note my Dad mentioned when he unlocked the car before the incident he could hear something making noises like it was wakening up. After the work when he opens the door he doesn't hear anything at all. The message he see's is "Ford key free switch ignition off press power" but that goes away once the driver door is closed. I don't know if this is related or a separate issue?
Thanks
Andrew

Hi All,
** UPDATE**
Focus is now back on the road, using FORSCAN l read and cleared the DTC's, pressed the clutch and engine fired into life. There where codes for the clutch pedal sensor, ABS, Electric Steering Lock and battery under voltage. Brand new battery was bought and put in also performed the battery module reset also with FORSCAN. Now it is running like a swiss watch.
Thanks Again
