Default ST220

After many months of looking and thinking about getting one, this turned up local, so bought it! My BMW 750 died, headgasket and misfires plus lots of other issues!

135k but seems like its always been looked after, no signs of body work repairs, no rust on the body work, inner door bottoms spot on, sills looks nice an good too!
Interiors in a right decent order, small wear and rip on the drivers bolster, but better than most ive seen.

Final facelift, but still late 2005 ( so not the mega VED rate! ) . Xenon lights, and a sun roof! Auto close mirrors with puddle lights. All the electrics work and has LPG fitted that works .

Tho not all good, leaky rocker covers and suspect the sump too, so will order some new gaskets and get that sorted soon.

It had DVD drive and 6 disc changer in the boot, so guess it had factory nav at some point, came with an older android 6 unit fitted, but ive already stuck a new Adroid 10 job in. Also had a factory fitted dog gaurd that ive removed , but has no signs of a dog ever being in it, infact very little scuff marks in the boot area for an estate, ill soon sort that out with dump runs and kids bikes etc!

That looks very clean - then I got to the interior. Looks tidy but I don't think I could sit in a bright red interior everytime I got in it!

Didn’t realise Ford done red interiors. Looks similar to my BMW. I like it. Paint look nice and shiny too.

good looker phil, when I got mine it had the red interior so swapped it with a chap who had black, on the V6 the exhaust downpipes on these like to give out so hopefully its something thats been addressed already by previous owner, if you do find the brakes a bit lacking, focus ST225 brakes are perfect upgrade on these and work spot on

Looks nice that mate.

I wired the folding mirrors into the central locking on my old mk3 i used to have.

The half leather seats with the alcatara(sorry about spelling) are a rare seat.

Does it go well then? My old 2.5 V6 was a bit flat for a V6.

Anything will fit with the use of a welder. I wonder if the electrical connections under the seat be the same as a focus.

nice looking car, if it's had the denso then it's probably packed up and been too much to repair hence the swap, leave it as it is but if you do decide to swap it the loom in the back is slightly different so check first
red leather is highly sought after and you could see as much as Ł600 for that
i've got black alcantara in mine
it looks like it's already got the asbo brakes on it too and a nice exhaust

as for the option of fitting those seats into another ford, my mk3.5 focus has exactly the same plugs in the bottom of the seat as the mondeo, but it's probably wired up differently but i've only just had a look at the plug yesterday so it might not be but it's exactly the same plug to go in

front splitter on, previous owner gave it to me with the car, just never got round to fitting it. Also transferred my plate 😉

Also had to add a subwoofer, but didn't want to loose much boot space, this seems to do the job nicely, had two of them in my old xr4x4 20yrs ago so dug it out of the loof, the other 10" is in the cosworth both still going strong.

I want one of these bass boxes for my mk4 mondeo. I just dont wanna pay 80 quid for one then say 50 quid for a sub.

The mondeo is looking well. Is it quick then.

The box was Ł115, was / started to make one, and gave up and took the quick buy one option

Its revs well and is very smooth in power delivery, as for speed, nothing too exciting, tho not really been anywhere other than commuting to work, tho may have give it a bit at 3am on the way home . Its the first FWD car ive owned with a good amount of power tho, only other fwd cars ive had were both 1100cc fiestas

Its fits the bill, looks a bit better than the normall day to day stuff, goes ok, but no spinney turbo things attached, so no temptation to remap and mod, and spend unnecessary money

I fitted a cone filter to my old mk3 mondeo. Not for any more performance but jist for the sound of the V6.

Time flys. One year on and just tipped over 140k, so about 5K in a year, which is above average for me. And nothings gone wrong!

Apart from hitting a loose lorry tyre at 70mph, that wipped out the front bumper That was something on the to do list anyway due to bad paint , so replaced it with a decent one.

LPG seems to have gone up around 10 to 15p a Litre since I bought it, wish the same could be said for petrol!
