Default 2.1 zvh turbo escort mk4 kangarooing on boost and bogging down

Hi all
I got the above car
sometimes when driving in high revs just before changing gear it will back off and start kangarooing as if it’s over boosting
thought I sorted it by removing the adjustable boost valve but still does it and now sometimes when it starts doing it I can not get high in the revs without it bogging down and running Poo but take it back down to cruising speed and all fine until

I bring revs back up
leave it a few miles and can get up the revs again until another few high rev runs and does the same

have checked all pipe work etc and all ok
plugs good compression good
any advice massively appreciated
thanks

are you sure it's not just a hard cut rev limiter on the rotor arm? i remember on my xr3i i tried a few arms, some were soft cut and some just cut the power completely until it dropped a few hundred rpm

Its on coilpack by the looks of it so wont be dizzee arm.
If its bogging it sounds like it might be overfuelling. Have you got an AFR gauge/checked it with a gauge? Did you have the engine checked after removing the adjustable valve? What boost is it running?

hi
yes it’s coil pack
not got an a/f gauge but will have to get 1
The adjustable valve was fitted by me as wanted to turn boost down as thought that might be problem but was not so just removed it
if I remember right it’s running around 0.5 bar according to the gauge

hi
its a coil pack set up so no rotor arm
most of the time it’s fine tho and can get it in the high revs and boosting well
but then randomly it will do it and then bog down some times after that not allowing me to Rev high at all
Been told to fit a air fuel gauge and change fuel filter and fit an adjustable fuel pressure reg and check crank sensor so far
