Default Engine swap questions

Hello i m looking to buy a first car in an extremely tight budget and an option is the 1.6 sierra. But i want something a bit more powerful newer and economical. So i want to know if i can fit a 1.6 focus mk1 engine in the sierra transmission. I have read that the 2.0 bolts up to the mt75 but does the 1.6 bolt on?

If its the 1.6 Zetec Se it won't bolt up directly to the mt75 or the t9. You can get a bell housing for the t9 but "I think" the crank needs drilling for the spigot bearing. It's not going to be cheap or very effective dragging a Sierra around.
For Se info look at a firm called Shawspeed.

A 1.6 Zetec E won't pull thre skin off a rice pudding but would be cheaper and easier to install.
A 1.8 Zetec E would be a much better bet. Better still the 2.0 but they are getting harder to find.
Neither are going to feel special in a Sierra with out a boost in torque.

Depends on which 1.6 Sierra he has. The (quite rare) 1.6 CVH should have the same clutch bellhouse pattern as all Zetecs!?
