Mountune 2l duratec 270bhp

Hi all,

Has anyone any experience with the 270bhp mountune duratec engine? Is it reliable/need rebuilding often?

thinking of purchases a mk2 with one fitted.

All thoughts welcome

270 isn't a lot for a Duratec,

anyone got a stock 2.3l going spare, after reading this thread it's definitely time to start collecting the bits I need for a serious upgrade to R400 Duratec.

With 270 bhp out of a N/A 4-cyl engine we're talking about race spec. Which means it takes a lot of know-how to get/keep them running properly, a lot of service AND a total rebuild now and then.
Back in the days the BTCC was running similar engines. The top teams rebuilt them after each race, the private teams also needed more than one engine for each season.
