Default ecu swop out is it as easy as that

hi folks just bought another l6 ecu to replace my fried one. the second hand one i just bought was running greens i didnt want the chip with it so its been taken out. is it just as simple as putting my stg1 chip in it and away i go or will i have to adjust the co or anything els as the co screw might be in a different position for the previous owners set up being it was running greens thanks. i no its allways best to have a set up. i do have a co machine
