Picked up an escort zetec, couple of questions . tps
So we have this 1998 escort convertible , in pretty good condition however it does have some small issues that need ironing out .
its a 1.8 zetec lump, i know nothing much about these, but hey an engines an engine so ?
I wish to set the throttle position sensor which i assume does need doing, i took some readings earlier which i though was strange , i had 4 volts closed and a sliding scale down to 0.25 volts or something at WOT. is this correct ? i figured it should start at 0.25 and be at 4 at WOT ?
the injector wiring is damaged , it looks to be clipped in with the tps, as in i should be able to source a replacement injector loom and plug it in real easy, where would be the best place to find this ?
also what is the easiest best way to get to and clean the idle control system , looks like its buried behind with the throttle nr the bulk head , i cant really see. i havnt had a chance to pick up a manual yet.
