Default throttle positon sensor.

im running around in a 1.8 zetec escort at the moment and it seems to misfire round about 4k its worse when under load ie going up a hill, been told its more than likely the tps is there anyway to check it or is it just replace and see? also do i nee to set it up or is it a one off one on affair? also when you lift off the throttle to change gears the revs hang for a few seconds could this be the same fault or would that be iscv??

Any help would be great.

they normally suffer with flat spot or misfire at 4k, I would clean the throttle body out with carb cleaner/petrol as well as the iscv ,unlikely to be the tps or maf
