Def a smith & jones block.
was also on a normal cossie head ported by Nick Waples
Cheers Paul
Smith and Jones is the way to go for sure
No point sinking loads of money into an old 200 block anymore nowadays
Have you seen any info on anyone running one of there new cast 200 blocks non alloy ?

I sold my mountune 200 block for that reason was to good to destroy for liners and put that towards an s&j
Looks like 2 runs one after the other, one to 7000 rpm then back to 4500 rpm and upto 7500 rpm
Seems to sustain rpm longer in second run maybe due to increased load on the dyno
RPM can't go from 7000 to 4500rpm instantly though, unless they're logging at a very slow rate, which would seem odd.
Doesnt affect the overall result, it just looks odd for the data.
I agree mate it is odd I've not seen it before but there will be a reason for it pal
I'm just assuming they dropped the rpms and ran again at more load
Guy from smith and jones hinted towards a Greek or Maltese (can’t remember) drag company building one to I think it was near 1500hp, can’t remember exact details I’ll try find his post. Says they are stronger than the cast aluminium block which I can imagine but costs more.

they’ve had a few over 1000 hp I’d imagine with gt42 strapped to the side and 50-60 psi
At 2.6 bar of boost that’s gotta be another 50/60hp, then once in the car and on a regular rr it’s probably around the 800hp mark easy on pump fuel.
Just goes to show you it can be done.
Cheers Paul
I think your about spot on full boost on motorworx about 810 hp ish on pump, and close to 900 on race id imagine
Must have a well specced head on it 💪 hard to tell spool curve from engine dyno as the load is variable I believe and user defined
He was on the dyno Monday but hasn’t posted the results for some reason hopefully nothing went wrong. He was aiming for 900+hp, he now uses Julian Godfrey.
Last I seen of Jonathan’s black saph it was built by mark and had over 800hp I haven’t seen anything about it in a while
That engine kept having problems with the liners moving so he’s now moved too Julian Godfrey and is using an alloy block, think he’s aiming for 900hp. Going too be some car when finished.

Interesting he’s not using Mark anymore....
I see he was at Julians.
He seems to keep having engine work done and changing the spec of things on a regular basis.
That car never seems to be reliable anymore...

yeah noticed he keeps changing the spec. I think he’s had the same problem twice with the liners moving, now on a smith and jones block. Think it’s been pretty reliable other than the liner problems. Sure it will be better now. Still no updates on how he got off on the dyno

I was thinking the same Leigh.
He’s always posting on fb then doesn’t bother updating any posts about how he gets on at dumps or pod days 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Must like the tease lol

true mate I thought he would of put the results up, unless something went wrong. It looked too be an interesting engine but not much info on it.
Yeah don't see why not, gtr will be first though, Cossie might need a different diff
was reading the feature this week from performance ford with the first 200mph run that rod did, think it was around 600hp and 700 with nitrous, 11.5 1/4 at brunters with tall gearing and road tyres, think that’s very impressive, imagine 10’s or even 9’s would be possible with slicks.
Your gtr is something else! Read through the thread a few days ago.👌

Yeah I remember it was 11.5 and iirc 134 or 138 mph ?
Gtr with no launch have pulled 11.3 @ 151 mph with full boost from into 3rd gear, now have full boost 2nd gear onwards, just suspension to alter then will start launching it up my road with v box on and get it as quick as possible then it's pod time just on pump fuel r888 tyres 👍
