Default Fiesta zetec s 1.6

Alright everyone, I have a few questions, I recently bought a 1.6 and was a humming noise coming from the left front wheel from what I could tell. I took it to the garage and the said i have a cracked rim ( so tyre was flat) i put the spare on but the humming was still there , and two days ago driving it to garage to get it all checked out 3 lug nuts snapped off the right side . What would cause that 2 happen
what's could be the humming noise

Using too much torque to tighten the wheel nuts may cause the studs to snap.

For the humming noise... first thing to check would be the wheel bearing.

do you know what the previous owner did?

EDIT: And I've seen people "hand-tighten" the wheels and still applying too much torque
