Maybe should have put this in a resto. Hoped to start the thing last Saturday. Should have known better. 2.5 litres gearbox oil in after taking out the headlamp and fabricating a filler out of various bits, looked under car, no need to oil the garage floor for a while Driveshaft not fully in, a lucky escape really, alright now.
Brake fluid in, you guessed most of it on the garage floor, sure I had tightened all the connections, lol.
10 litres 97 octane in, no noise from fuel pump so no start.
Took out the spare Bosch pump, blootered with a hammer no joy.
Ordered a new pump, back in garage kicked Bosch hooked up to battery in disgust, buzz, buzz, away it goes spurting fuel everywhere! Sod it will just fit the new one.
Bleed the brakes, slipped the local midget contortionist a tenner to torx open the bypass valves on the modulators. Pump pedal, WTF?
Clip had come of brake pedal, shaft thru bulkhead bent at 45%.
Surely a circlip, nope grind the bstard off, bend it straight, grommet in bits, sealastic is a great thing. Neighbour ground down a headbolt for a new bush so sorted.
Hooked up pump for chargecooler, no pump. Another job for a large hammer.
Bleed the Brembos, Italians must no be metric. 1/4 spanner (which I don't have), opened with an adjustable but no use to tighten when bleeding and the wee,est nipples you've ever seen so the tube on the 'one man bleeder', no for a feckin escort with eytie brakes?
Anyone know what voltage should be feeding the Pace pump? Wired to the connector for the windscreen wiper motor as/photo with an inline 10 amp fuse. Tempted to put 400 volts to the bstard thing!
Gets better by the minute, can't get the oil pressure light to go of! Dipping the sump suggests all the oils still in the sump, in spite of cranking two dozen times.
Oil filter off and try and prime the pump. Oh the joys.
