Default car cut out whilst pulling off what could it be?

So my wife bought a smart forfour car 2005...25k the clock about 3 weeks ago....i gave my speech but she just wanted the car....seemed ok we've been using it 3 weeks but today she was driving it and seemed as though it completely cut out luckily it was sun evening and the roads were completely dead at this time its semi auto with full auto option she said had accelerator pedal down but just crawled to a stop....we swap over i reset car back to neutral and got it restarted and drove home (2 mins away) just concerned now what could have caused it? I had a ford fiesta myself never encounter such an issue...i dont think it was her. She said none the dash went off....any advise or known faults with the forfour....just strange as driven fair bit in last 3 weeks fine....

coolant got lower is only thing i can think of... i did top it up 2 weeks ago dont see a leak but could it of cause it to overheat cut out?? Manual says fill to max marker yet i see no marker but it seems a long way down into the tank and def lower then 2 weeks ago but it has been very hot but then my fiesta the coolant is at the same level no issue there and been in the heat as well.
