Default Tvr t5 gearbox

Has anyone fitted a tvr t5 gearbox to a 2wd cosworth? There supposed to be a lot stronger than the cosworth box, and pretty reasonable price. Been looking at doing the quaife big tooth conversion to my box but its expensive to do. Thanks

They are no stronger, basically the same box.

If your after an option as cheap as possible just get your current t5 rebuilt.

Cheers Paul

think they are stronger as made by tremec not Borg Warner also the tvr make more torque and power than a ybt I might be wrong no idea, but it was still no good on the high rpm gear change from 2nd to 3rd so had quaffe internals put in then never had a problem with the shifts

Spoke to cts today and they say there exactly the same. Ideally I would like to find a used t5 with a quaife big tooth kit in it allready, there very hard to find though. Bit of a stretch for me to find the money for a new one at the mo

They're identical. Same gears, same syncros. No stronger.

Thats what I suspected, they don’t get abused like have you ever seen a tvr doing burnouts lol and the power delivery will be smooth.
