Default Mercury grey FRST

Never done a build thread before so thought I'd start one. After a previous post some of you may have seen I was toying with selling the fiesta to fund a focus rs. I've decided to stick with the fiesta (better the devil you know than the devil you don't) and track some progress on here. Luckily it's a relatively clean shell for a 29 year old car so I don't think there's going to be many rust issues.
i do have some bubbles starting to form under the paint in a couple places but hoping there pretty superficial. I've contacted a body shop local to me to price up a respray and do a few other bits I want doing. Now I've been thinking about colours too. Originally mercury grey which is what I wanted when looking for one, opinions please? Do I go mercury again, mercury with some metal flake or go for a different grey, thinking either stealth grey or Skoda quartz grey... My head is saying be sensible and stay mercury but the rebel in me wants to do something else....
anyway, rear bumper removed firstly which I was dreading incase the rear lower panel was riddled only to be pleasantly surprised.

not sure what's going on O/S but I imagine it's had am arch at some point. No welding repairs from what I can see though...
Waiting to hear back from the body shop so will update as and when...

Had it in the Ford garage when the new shape fiesta was launched. Was like a proud father seeing it pride in place in the showroom 😂.
Plans are to raptor the underside, does anyone have any experience with it? Do I have to get the old underseal off first or can it go over the top?

Nice one I'll have a look at that, cheers Rsmat. Do you have to completely remove the old underseal or can it go on top?

Today some fun bits turned up

turns out the old pads were like new but I don't know how long theyve been in there and how hard they've been used so decided to renew.

out with the old

and in with the new 🤘
Got some caliper paint on order so cleaned them up ready. Haven't greased the pads yet as I'll do that when the calipers and brackets have been painted. Love a drilled and grooved disc.

Arch liner is coming out at some point to inspect the inner wings and clean everything before I re-underseal it.

Small update but progress is progress...

Painter has just been round to look over the car and see what I want doing and any little bits to sort out. Decided to stick with mercury grey to keep it looking semi original.
Body kit wise does anyone have any links to what rivets hold the side skirts on? Can't remember if I read somewhere they are plastic coated?
