Default Mk1 Sierra Xr4x4 3dr

Hi, I wondered if anyone has any info about the production of this model? it’s a 2.8l cologne engine 3dr 4x4. Very un-messed with as far as I can see.
I picked it up in France a few months back. It was originally marketed and sold at the Geneva motor show. The french log book and sales receipt says it’s first registered 85’
sorry about bad photos I can take more.
Any info on production numbers etc would be interesting.

Interesting car, it’s not one that was ever sold over here. Definitely the first one I’ve ever seen.

Yes, Iv not seen another. It was on french Swiss border. I can’t find much info on production numbers. It’s fun to drive on loose ground very predictable, but more sedate than an xr4i.

I know there used to be an original 3 door 4x4 around in Holland, but they are VERY rare!

You have certainly got your self a rare car. Never knew Ford made any, must be very few around now. Classic Ford at Mallory Park , Simply Ford at Beaulieu, National Motor Museum,Isle of Wight Ford takeover and lots of other shows where you will see other older Fords on display. Keep your eye out in magazines like Classic Ford where they list different shows etc. Do you have any plans for the car apart from general cleaning and polishing?

We are tidying it up underneath to stop any corrosion but it’s quite solid and serviceable. Doing fuel tank pump filters plugs, brakes wheel bearings lights wipers. But want to leave it as is. Maybe get a Uk mot on it this year.

Sensible things to do on a car when you know little about it's past. I think if you get it road legal it will get a lot of interest at any shows you may take it to. Good luck with it.
