Default Anyone knows what this is?

So I'm putting a rollcage into my car and have been stripping it down. Had some problems removing the steering wheel, forgot to put the key into the ignition lock so the steering lock was engaged. Got everything of but about 30 minutes later i found this on the floorpan under the steering column.

The M8 bolt is just there for size comparison. It has a smal hole in it aswell. Anyone knows where it is supposed to go?

Is it the bit of the steering lock that pops out to lock the column? Does the wheel turn now, without it?

Did you remove the steering lock or only the steering wheel?

Not sure exactly where it goes, but if you keep looking around I bet you'll find a small spring that will fit in the hole in that.
Or the spring is still stuck in another hole waiting for that bit to fit on it.

Well i removed everything from the steering shaft. So only the shaft remains in the car. Did not remove it as the picture below but slide the thing of with the ignition lock and so on. Dont know what it is called Yeah i suspect that it is supposed to be a spring in it so it can pop out, Could also be a small metal bulb/ball in it.

No that part is still there, that piece goes inside the steering wheel and locks it if i get it right, And that "pin" or what u would call it is about three times bigger than the piece on the pictures ive posted.
