Default TTV Racing twin plate clutch kit

Looking in to a new clutch for my 2WD sapphire Cosworth and came across the TTV Twin plate kit.

Has anyone used one ? Are they any good and would you need to go hydraulic to have a nice easy pedal ?

Once mapped the car will be running 450-500 bhp but is a road car so want a clutch that's nice to use plus not on or off if caught in traffic.

Power may increase next year so also want to future prove.

Why not ask TTV ?

I've never used their clutch, but from looking at them and their products, they definitely make some very nice stuff.

Twin organic would be ideal.

They are measured in torque not hp, organic upto 550 ftlb, paddles 600 ftlb, it's all on there website

They can custom build almost anything though. And also depends how much safety factor they build in.

But some of the pictures of their stuff I've seen, as well as stuff at last years Autosport, were excellent quality.

Think the organic would be fine but are they nicer to use on the road than say a paddle clutch ?

paddle just refers to not having a solid full face friction, which is typically a non organic material.

So yes, any organic type clutch will drive a million times better than "a paddle" clutch

But of course they offer both types.

Unless you're doing serious launches at a drag strip on sticky tyres....I wouldnt be wanting any paddle clutch if it can be avoided,

Much better pedal feel more progressive, paddles tend to be on and off, but depends what power your going for, my cossie has a twin paddle helix in it to cope with high torque and even that has slipped slightly during bedding in period at 550ftlb, it's been fine now on the Dyno and in testing but I thought it worth mentioning

If a clutch is rated at 550 ftlb maximum personally I'd want to keep abit under that, I've killed a twin organic in a skyline with under 500 lbft easily launching lol

What is your max torque figure you will hit ? And are you going to launch the car ?

Current engine should give about 400-450 ftlb once it's mapped on new turbo but will be building a new one next year with more power. Don't want massive amounts of torque as 2wd with big torque just means more wheel spin.

Whatever you go for a hydraulic conversion is a massive improvement.

For that sort of torque a twin plate isn't needed in a 2wd IMHO, I'd go single plate with hyd actuation.

Don’t find it much different to an organic helix I had on another car
seems to be much easier to modulate with the hydro conversion
