It goes in the dashboard, it slots into the cubby where the ecu cover would be.....

This is it in the fully case...

Are you sure this is a Sapphire Cosworth fitment? Never seen one in any other Saff and how could it fit where the ECU goes, it is quite bulky and where would the ECU be re-located? Why would you want one fitted in your car? From memory when you showed me your car it looks fine as it is.

later cars had the ecu behind the glovebox.

my car has the same cubby hole and I have one of those cassette holders up in my loft somewhere, possibly even still in a box

In the later pictures its sat inside the original dash insert so it does fit.

Ive seen one other fitted to a k plate that was for sale on ebay a few years ago.

As with most things people chop and change there accessories and i like the old things, not sure i would fit it but its somethinh of a talking point if i did, like the in car phone i have.

My Saff Is a 1990 2WD so I presume they were only fitted to the later 4x4s?

There not a ford item, there an aftermarket item.

German i think, they make all sorts of storage options....cd holders, tapes holders etc.they were really popular back in the 80's & 90's.

I think if you had a car back then the coin holder or console insert had been adapted by this company....Vauxhalls if i remember, astras & cavs came with cassette holders as standard, probably done by Fischer.

Drop it in google images and I'm sure you'll recognize something you've owned....

XR4i's had a similar looking cassette holder but it was under the stereo slot and I think it may have only had 4 slots. Finally got rid of mine last year after owning it for nearly 30 years so unfortunately can't look at it to confirm the details.

All sierra 4x4 Cosworths have both engine ecu and abs ecu behind the glove box so you will see the ducket in your dash where this goes, it wouldn't fit a 2wd modal without moving the ecu.
Anyway who uses cassettes nowadays!

Not that I would want one but I thought the same thing that in a 2wd Saff it could not fit without moving the ECU.
