pistons/valve cuts?

Default pistons/valve cuts?

getting my engine rebuilt,got new pistons from ggr,thing is my old pistons which melted had valve cut outs,these don't,will this be ok ? could anyone explain why and what i can do about it if not?

It depends what cams you are running - some require cut outs, some not. Yours could have had them either because they were needed, or for future use.

cams are kent (k2 is it?,cant remember without looking at the last rebuid receipt,not got it here) that make any difference?

1/ what would happen if they didn't have the cut outs and needed them?

2/ can i get the pistons cut out?or do you buy them like that?

3/ and how will i know if they need the cut outs?

bend the valves and maybe damage the pistons

2/ can i get the pistons cut out?or do you buy them like that?

between £25-£40 per pistons to get them in OR buy already done

3/ and how will i know if they need the cut outs?

have to have the cam lopes measured for lift really

Collins is near-ish to you mate they can do it for you , something lik £40 a piston

i'll probably try the bloke who rebored it,if he can do it?hes quite good with cossies apparantley and only 20 min away,if not weres collins based at?got a contact? ta
