Default Restoration (Slowly) of Series One Turbo

Hi Guys,
Well after about 2years of driving the car and its now been in storage for about 20yrs, it has now seen daylight....
It is back home and ready for the restoration as i have a bit of extra time on my hands. It will be a long project and have no ambitions to get it done within a certain amount of time, slow and steady wins the race, more like i dont want to bog myself down and get fed up with it and destroy personal life Hehe, the wife rules!
ill post a couple of pics and try and keep you posted as i go along.
Also will need lots of advice on how to and also to source parts etc.
The strip down commences.

Regards

Jamie

Cheers Mate,

How come you have S1 my friend, are they both road worthy.?

I have a lot of steel work to do:
Floor pans
Front chassis leg
Boot
Fuel filler
Battery tray
Inner wings
Outer wings
Rear chassis legs etc especially where bad repairs have been carried out.

and i suppose there will be more as i go along and strip down to bare shell.

on the look out for a fuel filler insert if anybody knows of one kicking about.

Cheers

Hi

Yup, ones pretty original ( non custom ) that i rebuilt about 10 years ago now and the other is a black caged track slag thats been reshelled. The blacks ones legally on the road at the moment the white one needs and MOT and a dust off.

sounds like you've got a lot of work on your hands there!

Ill be watching for sure

I was where you are now about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. The road is long my friend and bloody expensive. I just stopped counting the money about a year ago 😂 but I’m seeing the light at the end now and I’m still totally besotted with my Escort, plenty of guts and gumption and a never put off to tomorrow a small job you could do today and you’ll get there
good luck mate
