Hello all! Before the winter blizzard kicks in need to iron out a few creases. Have fitted a temporary engine while mine gets forged and it came with an Organic AP clutch (was using Sachs 500nm before) but is slipping - I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it would be enough for 340bhp as it slips on boost.
Have tried bleeding it 2 man method "PUMP IT.....HOLD IT" etc etc - also tried the spare tyre/gunson method AND tried both methods together - no air bubbles a tall - all fresh fluid through system (was done last year anyway) but still slips on boost but is a lot better than before! Any tips/tricks? or advice before i go and badger my mate for his £500 clutch bleeding kit lol he gonna be so pissed off to see me - no fluid leaking in gearbox from slave cylinder HOWEVER am getting a hissing noise in GEAR...pointing in direction of slave cylinder - but when the system is under pressure wit gunson kit there are no leaks....cheers all! hope my question isnt too dumb for today
i'd have thought the AP one s good for that kind of output though its the torque that will kill it.
If it needed bleeding i would have assumed you'd have trouble changing gear rather than it slipping as once it's engaged the hydraulics are irrelevant
Yes true - thanks for the reply - all sorted now going with skimmed flywheel and my original Sachs 510nm rated clutch - the feeling on the organic is lovely , pedal etc, but the Sachs is awee bit too high and stiffer and driving 2000 mile road trip kills my back - is it time for a four door auto ????? Hows your projects/sons projects getting along @bigdel ?
Good mate thanks. All running now and mapped, running a shade over 450hp.
Got a few jobs to do over winter, electric power steering conversion, and there appears to be a leak from the sump.
well turned out my slave cylinder was leaking - bought a new one from GG came with a bulletin sheet containing instruction to seal it silicone to stop leaks and contamination EXATLEY what happened originally hence why i had slippage - as upon dismantle clutch was well contaminated - and wasnt bleeding properly either - all good now fingers crossed - test drive went very well .
