Default Will a Kent cam cause a misfire.

Hi, in my s2 88 Erst I had what I was told to be a Kent cvh 31 cam, I rebuilt the engine car a few years ago and in been in dry storage since, when then engine was built I never set the cam up only roughly to get it to run in, now when the boost was turned up to around 12-14 psi (and yes the car is chipped) then it would back fire. Fast forward to now I have set the cam up to 112deg atdc on full lift as per settings. When I tried the car again it now misfires under load/boost so I decided to check basics and rule out simple things plugs leads fueling, ect...so Then I decided to re checked the cam and found this stamped on the end kcvh 35 now if this is a Kent cam ? Then the setup is not 112deg after tdc it is 118 atdc , now my question is A is this a Kent cam sports r 35, and B if it is will this 6 deg of crank rotation cause me a horrendous misfire on boost. ? Tia.

Install as per manufacturers instructions.

No, a camshaft in itself, as long as it isnt fucked, will not cause misfires.

Incorrect installation or tuning could cause misfires, as can a myriad of other external things.

If you had installed it incorrectly and 6deg out would that cause misfires ? Unlikely but it would affect performance. Obviously as the dizzy is driven off the camshaft this could then be affected by this...but then that comes back to correct installation and tuning in general. Right is right, wrong is wrong.
