Is this stuff ok to just paint on underneath and inside the wheel arches? It's only for a bit of protection on my old fiesta and possibly my Mondeo, one car is red and the other is blue.
so is the clear stuff any good or am i better off using for black? I'm not expecting a show car finish but i don't want it to look shit either.

Better to get the spray attachment for this ,much easier ,and you can also shoot it inside the chassis rails ans cills etc ,the clear would look better but remember this will add a film over what you coat ,its main job is protection not looks
I use the clear waxoil and just brush it on. I've done this for years.
what do you think of it Glenn? Ive been reading online that it goes a shitty colour i instead of clear, how long is it lasting before you have to do it again?

It does discolour,I cleaned some over-spray off a couple of places in my Saffs engine bay earlier this year which has been there for about 25 years!! It has done the job on mine keeping the rust at bay for the 23 years I have owned it. 23 MOT passes so far!!!

I think it's ok as long as the rust isn't already there. If it's only surface rust I wire brush it then use kurust then a bit of primer.
it goes a bit of a yellow colour after a few years. There was s few bits of wax oil in my engine bay on the cossie that went s bit brown looking.
I bet that was easier to put on, just messy if you ever had to work underneath it again.
I better hold off giving the rear arch a coat, as per my other thread. if i end up getting it done, whoever does the work will be pissed if I've just coated the inside arch with fresh waxoyl 😂
does this look right? Ive sprayed it on but its so watery its made a right fucking mess. It's hardly clear either. am i doing something wrong? Ive certainly got it everywhere, but it looks like a 5 year olds done it.
That's good then, i was worried it wasn't right and i had wasted my time. i think I'll do the underneath with some underseal instead though as it will last longer. This stuff seems ideal for all the hard to reach places as it gets in everywhere.

From the look of your photo the suspension strut has had a hard life, has the car been used for rallying?

No, I've taken it to the ring a few times for some hard laps but that's about it. It is a nearly 20yr old fiesta though so probably just age related wear.
Fook that. It's a Ford spray the whole car in wax oil.
Wax oil is a nightmare to get of Windows though.
I tried a brush but it was just running off and not really taking to the car. So i used a pump spray bottle which worked well but it went everywhere, i was fucking covered in it.
That looks O.k mate, no point messing about and full coverage is important. I'm about to rust proof my new car which is three years old. I'm using Bilt Hamber products and I am literally going to tarmac the fucker, the way I look at it is that you can bet that any area I don't effectively cover will end up corroding in years to come so I intend to use "P" for plenty.

I thought with new cars these days anti rust proofing is done during the factory build? What car is it?
