They are good brakes and don't squeal, I am sure Hi-Spec will want your business, stick with it.

that'll be down to pads, im sure martin can spec you some that you wont have issues with.

have you looked at K sport brakes? that's what i fitted to mine as the value was unbeatable, not going to say they are as good as AP's but they are a country mile better than standard!

The K sport big brake kits do seem like good value compared to the price of APs. What set up have you gone for?

That sounds like a good stopping power set up. I think a lot of people just think the AP brakes are what you "must " have and ignore other makes which may be better value for money.

I made my own kit using brembo calipers off a Mercedes. A lot cheaper to use calipers off another car.

Very true, if you can use OEM off another car and buy from the 2nd hand market that is the way to go.

The kit I was originally looking at from hi spec was
Rear...328mm disc 4 pot caliper with built in handbrake
Front...335mm disc 6 pot caliper

They say they will fit under my 17” RS diamond cuts
But still not got back to me having chased them all day yesterday

Thought about Compbrake but a lot of people don’t rate them
Cheap like wilwood kits
They do look good on their website tbh
Are you sure there brembo as they claim to make their own

The 4 pot kit for 330 and 350 discs are brembo off a Porsche and Audi. Cannot remember which one tho.

Wilwood are cheap because they are mass produced in the states and are no different to the Hi Spec stuff.

Do you really need to go that big on the rears?

Std good brakes on a road car is fine and will work well from 150mph and they don't stop you going sideways trust me I know......
I have had the big brakes and now I am on 4x4 rears and 2wd fronts with uprated pads.
Be carefull as only some will fit behind 7 spokes.

Will be interesting to see if they do fit behind rs7 spokes as the clearance is terrible on them. They don't even clear the std 2wd 4 pots without a spacer

I plan on running a 5mm spacer
I’ve been in a car running similar to what I’m thinking and it stopped VERY well
It’s a nice balance 4 & 6 pots

K-sport brakes are amazing as I ran them on my M3 with pagit RS29 pads and never had squealing or any other noise and wanted to put them on my 2WD cossie but have now bought AP 6 pots from Reyland as K-sport UK told me they had no stock in the uk and it would be 12 - 16 weeks from order to delivery for a 2WD kit.

If your not in a rush then K-sports are a great kit but I needed them quicker so paid the extra £700 and bought ap's.
