The matrix is fed with hot water all the time the engine is hot and running.
cold air is fed in to the car by by-passing the heater matrix. This suggests that the connection between the hot/cold lever and the flap that diverts the air is disconnected and the flap is stuck in the hot position. Haynes manual page 313-314 should help.

On many cars if you confuse the in and the out when the Engine is replaces you end up with hot air but I expect it is as above, something has failed I expect

Unless the operating wire has become unhooked, or something is broken, most likely is that the outer sleeve clamp has come loose.
I think you can see the levers without removing the centre console.
Check one of the levers under the dash on the heating unit moves as the hot/cold lever is moved.

To adjust it if the setting is wrong or the clamp is loose, set the dashboard lever 2mm up from 'cold' and push the lever under the dash to the cold position, then tighten the clamp bolt.
if it isn't something in the hot/cold lever, I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

Needs investigating. Something is jammed. Haynes manual will help.
the cable might be kinked. You need to be a contortionist and look under the dashboard where the heater unit is. See what happens when you move the lever. Undo the outer sleeve clamp and unclip the inner cable, then see if the lever on the dash moves further. If so, the problem is in the heater unit. If not, it is in the dashboard lever.
i suspect that undoing the clamp and adhusting the outer sleeve might help. See previous comments on adjustment.....
