I have a quick question, I want to drain and refill coolant on my car, I cannot see drain plug on the radiator, where is it please on a 2006 ford focus sport 1.8 tdci ?

Just because you think it not got nay coolant in it be careful off where it drains off tooas it will have traces in it

Have you tried looking at the bottom of the radiator

 

This is in the wrong section again. You've been told numerous times.

 

Think once he has been given the answer they should lock his threads then maybe we not get so many in here and then he can not argue with the advice given

 

Look at the radiator,if there isn't one,then it hasn't got one.

 

It's possible Ford decided to save 1 pence per carand delete the rad drain bung option.

 

I'm not familiar with fords but id assume that if theres a rad drain plug it would be near the bottom of the rad.

 

its in the boot, just next to the spare wheel

 

Would it be easier to find it in the garage with the door shut and the engine running?

Well which hose shall I pull off, do you mean the hose connected to the radiator ? there are 2 top radiator hoses and 2 lower or so lower coolant hoses, I removed the very bottom hoses today anyway as I was replacing a leaking hose that had been sliced by the alternator.

My car DOES have a drain plug as someone removed it a while ago to drain it but it's been a while since and i cannot remember where it is and i am looking at bottom or radiator !

Quickest way to drain the coolant in your Focus would be to find a good tree, hit it at about 90mph

 

Removing the bottom hose will be fine as it's the lowest point

so by removing said hose does that drain radiator ? DO I just remove lowest hoses connect to the radiator ?

Remember always drain the coolant when hot and pressurised by simply pulling the bottom hose of the radiator.

just loosen the radiator jubilee clip,then go for a right good thrash,get that turbo spooling up,
that should do it

Always take the bottom hose off as usually is the lowest point and make sure the header tank cap is off

and please use the forum correctly by posting in the correct rooms . I have spent a while today moving your threads into the correct rooms so if you don't do this then will receive infractions that will lead to ban

so just use the forum correctly and there will be no issues

Under the engine bolted to it there is a small shiney tank, there is a drain plug on that. To get it out as quick as possible (including any locked air) rev the engine whilst draining

 

Aren't there bleed nipples on the front calipers and rear drums on a 1.8 tdci focus?
Presuming that's the car were on about.
If so the best way to bleed an air locked cooling system is crack each 1 late at night when the temperature is lower then take the car out to a deserted road,preferably a long straight then drive along within the speed limit,that should do it.
