Hi there. I have a focus mk1.5 diesel and she has just passed her mot. While I was getting her ready for her mot I found some serious corrosion under the rear fabric in the wheel arch. Thankfully it was covered for its mot so passed but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a repair scheme to fix the corrosion?

 

Cut out weld in new anything else just buys you a few years

 

There really is no "proper option" other than to cut and weld.

 

agree with above. Easiest way is to find a breaker with that bit in good shape and weld that in.

 

Same thing happened with my ST170, cut it all out and replace with fresh metal

 

Done some prodding. Wish I didn't. It's quite bad.

Very common this. My wifes focus was rotton here too. I just welded some plates over the holes.

 

Yes very common, it's caused by the fabric arch liners which hold the water. Bad design!
