Default Back in a Rs pis added and cheeky detail

Yesterday I picked up my mk1 focus Rs. I've wanted one for years and when a good friend mentioned he was selling a few things this been one of them I jumped at the chance number 0423 with 78,000 miles. Having owned a few fiesta and escort turbos and mk5 rs2000 this drives like a new car. Can't wait to get to the shows and get some detailing done

So my friend is doing a detail on the car and as promised here's pictures below

This is when I Picked it up it looked well

Nice car... what are they like to own?
The low mileage ones are getting quite expensive

I've had my eye on getting one but my Mrs doesn't like them (gawd knows why) and seeing as it would be her car (as I'd not sell the cossie) I don't think it's going to happen... Nice ones are getting rarer by the year too.

Love a good before and after pic as well

Really really fancy one of these myself but would have to sell the Saff to finance it, and I'm not keen on doing that!

I think if I drove one I'd want one even more. On that basis I'm quite glad none of my mates have one!!

I would say they are more special Glen as they only ever made 4501 and think about 2500 were right hand drive. With a fair amount written off now or broken for parts they are getting scarce.
My one went to Newcastle no 1228. It had 56k on it when I sold it. They are a great car.

You are correct.. I drove a mates one when he got it new with 300miles on it.
Great car which will be worth big numbers due to the rare factor.

I even cut a std exhaust off one and replaced it for a mongoose i think. Guess a std system would be worth a few quid now....

Looks great mate. Would love to get mine looking that shiney but haven't got the kit or the patience. Does anyone have any idea how much this sort of detail would cost?

It all depends on the standard you want the end product to look. There's a lot of time and consumables involved in doing the job properly and detailing is a dark art which very few people actually know exactly what they are doing so go on evidence of work/recommendations. When I ran my own business that would have been atleast £250 just to do the paintwork and if I didn't wantto do it then the bill was extortionant so they either paid or went elsewhere which suited me fine as some people expect miracles but at the same time I never once had a complaint
