Default Ford ka puma conversion

I'm new here but not new to fords. About to start building a puma powered ka, stripping the puma first then the ka. Also swapping the dash to a later ka one.

This is how i got it. £140 well spent <br/>

And here's the puma

Default Update time

Got some more done to the ka. Gearbox built engines in and running, loads of fiddly stuff to do yet but the majority is done

Nice job, you made it look easy. Bet it goes a lot better, looks good with the bumpers sprayed black as well.

Cheers it wasn't actually too hard to build, I'd recommend anyone doing one to just buy a whole puma that's running then you have every part you need. Even the drivers side mount is all original ford parts (ka/puma), ill show anyone who's interested how I did it

It's definitely surprised a few people. Even if it's just sat there with the bonnet up people can't work out how I've got it in there so neat haha

When I got the puma it had receipts for a remap and a rolling road printout saying 144bhp. Doesn't feel like it's got that sort of power though to be honest, I just assume it's standard.

No to be honest I'm not that fussed about bhp etc. It's just a really good car to drive everyday. It all started from me listing off everything I hated about the ka then changing it. It's pretty much a puma in a ka shell now. Everyone who's driven it said it's a really good car, got a few more plans for it so ill keep this updated

Ok I'll rephrase my question, if driven on a private road or track, what would be its top speed?

I used to have a Ka with a Focus RS engine in.. thread is on here somewhere. Went to Brighton with it more than a few times, but that was 5 years ago now.

That's impressive to do what you did in 4 weeks!

On a track or private road it goes past the 130mph on the speedo, i can't prove it on here, I have proof of close to it though on its first run

Thanks. I bet that went well. I think I ran a bit over 4 weeks in the end but wasn't far off

I didn't like mine much above 100 last time I drove it, on a track of course, just not the right type of car. Small roads are where it's at for the Ka.

Have you relocated that battery to the boot?

Yeah the battery is in the boot, used the puma battery tray and an e46 battery lead. I'll get some pics of all the bits and pieces over the weekend. The wiring loom is the whole puma one retaped extended and rerouted to fit the ka,
