a fella from work mentioned there was a S1 sat in some ones drive way
hear his house that had been there for a long time.
so i decided to pop round and have a look at it,
it was a completely standard C reg Custom.
had green algae and leaves all over it,
rust all over, Rear valance, Doors, tailgate, it had new wings that were
the worst colour match and were not decalled. it was a mess,
so i thought id knock on the door as they might not want much for it,
the bloke comes to door and says 'absolutely no less than 2 grand'
and i were gobsmacked, NO MOT, NO TAX and a hell of a lot of work
to be done so i walked away.
so if any one wants a project s1, there one in Southport.
forgot to say, he said engine had been rebuilt?
new turbo and gearbox?

 

Rather pick a decent S2 for that money, then a dog of an S1. Think the price as described is high

 

thats what i said to my mate, it was rough, definate respray needed and
i did not even look underneath, all tyres except one were flat, the only decent
thing with it was the dash had no cracks (from a quick look) and it had
proper RS Mudflaps which i want sooooooooooo much

 

Theres loads of dogs on e-bay that would be good part machines going for a hell of a lot less than that, let it rot there if hes a misery

 

Sounds like a rite dog. Why has he made no effort to clean it up a bit if it's for sale. It aint rocket science now is it ! Make him an offer for his mudflaps mate. Mine has mudflaps on which i am told were on the car from new. Do you have any piccies so i can compare ?

 

the mudflaps are the ones with the ford badge and rs written next to them,
i have a pair on the back, just need the fronts

 

Thats a sad story there, maybe the guy feels it has some sentimental value to him, or its the old 'ill restore it someday' story, sounds like a total waste of a car if you ask me

There was this S1 my mate told me of sitting on someones driveway for a few years, was in a little village about 10 mins drive from my house.
C reg non custom it was (think the reg was C30/34 BGT something like that) apparentley it had been up for sale for like Ł2400 a while back but then some lowlifes pinched the front seats and bumper trims and he'd just left it to rot guy just used it to block his driveway when he went on holiday
It looked fairly sound (though the bodywork was a shade of moss green), had RS500 wheels and 16i steering wheel and reportedly a trick 240bhp engine, but the guy wouldnt sell.
Think that was about two years ago, sadly the other month i drove past and it was gone, i wonder what happened to it?

 

Another S1 shitter. I'm coming to the conclusion that there are very very few nice ones out there for sale at the moment, in fact it seems that apart from the ones here and over at the RSOC and other Escort forums that basically there are very very few nice ones out there for sale or not!

Hang on to them chaps - prices are on the up and up.....

If you're looking for an S1 then hang on in there. Whatever you do, don't buy a shitter unless it's an absolute giveaway!

 

Even if you managed to blag it off him for Ł1000 I reckon you would end up spending probably twice that on it again to sort it, if not more!

 

all i wanted to do with it really was strip and sell parts, i was not expecting the
