YB slow oil drain
Slightly concerned that it takes a very long time for engine oil to return to the sump.
After running the car the oil drops from the max line of the dipstick to about 1/4 over minimum.
When the car is stopped it takes a good 6 hours for the oil level to return to normal.
Anybody had this before and should I be worried, oil never drops below minimum but I'm guessing there is a blockage somewhere and I don't want to starve anything of oil.

So it does not matter if the oil is filled above maximum when the car has been stood?
Was just concerned as every other car I've had has returned all oil to sump within a few minutes rather than a few hours.
Apologies if this actually turns out to be the most stupid question anyone has ever asked on this forum.

I'm glad it's not just me being an idiot then.
At the moment i've been trying to run it so that it is just below the max line after running and just above when stood still, hopefully somebody can shed some light on this though because it would be nice to know if it's a problem or just the engine design.

In mine the oil returns to the sump in minutes back to the full mark on the dipstick. I dont think it should take 6 hours to drain tbh something seems wrong... Maybe there is a blocked/partially blocked oil way somewhere?
wondering if engine flush be worth a try, but I've heard some people say to steer clear of it.
Reading that thread you posted clears it up I think, I did read somewhere else that it can take a while for the oil to return from the head and this varies between different cars (can't find the link now).
Enough people on that thread suggested it is nothing to worry about so I'm going to make sure my oil level is never above the max line on dipstick, I don't have any running problems (touches wood, rabbits foot and prays to god) at the moment but I am going to be booking in a tuning session with MA developments next month so will ask them as they will know if anybody does whether to worry about it or not.

Yesterday I checked the oil level on mine after it has sat for long without running and the oil level was about 1 cm above maximum.
I guess that's the result of filling when not all oil was back to the sump.
What is now the correct level? At maximum just after running, or after standing for a (long) time?
