Default Wiper fuse keeps popping?

Anyone able to shed some light on why my wiper fuse keeps popping intermittently? I've lubed up the joints on the wiper arms so they move freely, only seems to pop fuse when wipers are on. They work for a bit, then all of a sudden the fuse pops. Did it 3 times last weekend each time I put a new fuse in it was fine for a bit then popped. Drove it all last week with no issues then Friday afternoon it popped when I put my foot down coming off a slip road onto dual carriageway. Any ideas what this could be? Like I say only does it when wipers are on, really starting to brass me off now...

only reason it will pop a fuse is overload or a short, so if all connections are good and water tight will prob be the motor

The car is a MK3 Fiesta G plate. Seems weird that it only does it every now and then, can't see any damaged wires? Wiper stalk possibly?

I would take the wiper motor off and test it.

Make sure you have good contact where the boot lid meets the rear panel cause if i remember rightly the mk3 have these daft electrical connections in the boot lid and rear panel.

How should I test it? It doesn't have a rear wiper it was removed by previous owner, there a relay I should be looking into aswell?

So is it the front wiper that is where the fault is.

As said, it's probably the motor is a bit stiff, thus consuming more energy than it otherwise would.
