Hi people iv got cosworth green injectors on my escort

Just wondering what the next color the next ones up are that's if thay are a colour...

Yellow flow to 280(roughly)
Light Green flow to 300-330
Dark Green flow to 330-360
Light Blue flow to 350-390
Grey flow to 450-50

Because the CVH head is about as efficient as 2 legged police dog, at least compared with a zetec/YB head unless it has had serious (and good) work done to it. On a more serious note the CVH (yours is a large capacity CVH) has a high BSFC which means it uses more fuel to make the same power as a more modern engine. So you need bigger injectors than say a cosworth/zetec etc for the same power.

Buy a set of Siemens deka 630cc/min injectors and never have to upgrade again. Better and cheaper than a large set of old Bosch injectors.

Good start, but normally you will still need larger injectors on ZVH/CVH than a cosworth etc.

Would be good to chat with your tuner to make sure they are happy to map for the Dekas, it shouldn't be a problem as people like MSD do (i think) and its not such an issue going from low impedance injectors to high impedance as it is doing it the other way round.

PS, light blue cossy injectors are 440cc iirc, Astra VXR injectors are 470cc/min these can be a really cheap option if you are not after much over 300bhp.

Yes they should be fine. You generally have problems when the original injector s high impedance and you want to use low impedance injectors, this is why lots of people install large power resistors in series with the injector, effectively increasing the impedance.

People already run high impedance deka in cosworths, the vxr is also a high impedance injector.

Was looking to pick up a set of VXR injectors, but did Karlos not max out a set of Astra injectors at 230bhp on 100% duty? I was going for a set of Deka 630s as they're only Ł120 odd from the states, but not really aiming for anything over 250. If the VXR ones can fuel safely at that level then I may just pick a set of them up instead.

I believe he did yes. But it depends a lot on what engine you are using them in. The CVH regardless of who did the head or how well still has a relatively poor BSFC compared with things like zetecs etc. I have seen 280bhp using VXR injectors on zetecs with higher fuel pressure. I think they are 470cc at 3bar but closer to 550-580cc at 4 bar (there is a graph somewhere). Aim to keep duty below 85%, 90% at a push for a reliable tune.

I just recommend dekas or nice Bosch EV14's for people wanting over 200BHP using a cvh who think they might want more in the future. The Bosch also have a super nice spray pattern.

My point really was made regarding Stuart Collins
my light blues maxed out at 330bhp on my 1600
VXR injectors are larger than light blues afaik. So I imagine he was running higher fuel pressure to get those figures. I have done the same but in a zetec with higher fuel pressure when duty cycle was getting a little too close for comfort.

Also watch out for fake Chinese knock off injectors! They may flow well enough but are not reliable and certainly don't have nice spray pattern.
