mk1 frs oil return thread size

Default mk1 frs oil return thread size

Hi

Building up my engine and don't have the original push fitting. I want to aeroquip the oil return from t34 to the original location but I need to know the thread size to either buy or make somthing up to suit.

Can anyone help please?

That's really odd. My engine had been dry built by someone else before I had it and where the return normally is has been ground back a bit as the guys manifold fouled it, he apparently was going to block it off and put the return into the sump. So I have no push fitting by there is threads in the hole that's left? So confused. I'm going to have to try and find somthing to fit lol

The thread is a weird size mate
Think its around m16x2.0 or 5/8 12tpi bsw
Other option is to get an engine adaptor from carpartsexpress and thread the side your aeroquipping and use the std o ring on block side

Thanks alot for that mate. I'll have to investigate further I think but that's a good starting point. Do you know what the standard block side fitting is? My problem with that is I don't have the original fitting with the egg shaped plate that fixes to the block

You can then make the horseshoe bracket from some metal to hold it in place

Can you buy that fitting or did you machine it. I have a small watchmaking lathe so that's not a problem if I had dimensions
